We love to go the the Spanish Fork Park and do a hay ride and look at the Christmas Lights. This has become a tradition for our family. Kacey and Joshua snuggle on the trailer as we prepare to leave the parking lot.

Monday, the day after Christmas, we went to Salt Lake to Temple Square so that we could see the Christmas lights. Before they turned on the lights we had time to go to the Children's Museum and let the kids play. Here is Emma standing by the boat that Nephi built. She caught a little pink fish.

The Christmas story

We all went out to the barn to read the Christmas story and experience a little bit of what it must have been like to be born in a stable.

Annabell wanted to know what we were doing in her barn in the middle of the night. She kept peeking through the wall wondering what all these people were up to.

We have a plastic Mary and Joseph with a baby Jesus that light up. Karl put them out in the barn so we could tell the story of Christ's birth. The little girls wanted to touch baby Jesus and hold him. It was so precious!

Visit to the LA Temple

Karl and I were able to go to LA to visit the Wilson family. Here we are visiting the LA Temple grounds so that we could see the Christmas lights. Joel and Amelia had a lot of fun posing for the camera.. Of course they had to pose in their own special way.

We loved our visit to California. It was so warm that we were able to walk around the Temple with only a light jacket.

While we were at the LA Temple visitors center we ran into my Uncle Donno (Grandpa Brinkerhoff's brother)and Aunt Trudy's granddaughter. Her name is Sister Bailey Brinkerhoff. She is Kim's third cousin. We all expressed a desire to get to know our families better.

Polar Express

Savanna made a new friend as we traveled to the North Pole on the Polar Express. Her name is "Rudy" and she kept us all very entertained. We sang Christmas carols, ate cookies and had hot chocolate. The Brighton High School choir sang for us and we had an absolute perfect evening.

Abby's Grandma and Grandpa were able to join us for this great evening. We are so glad they did.

Santa boarded the train and slowly made his way through the train talking to each of the children. Savanna wanted me to tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas because she was a little afraid of him. I told her that it would be okay and that I would help her talk to him. When Santa finally came to our seats Savanna held up a little finger each time she mentioned what she wanted. As you can see in the background, Hallie held on to her mom where she felt safe and secure.

The Man Cave is Karl's newest project. I guess life was too quiet for him after he retired! Our business "The Can Organizer" has finally outgrown our basement so we decided to build a garage for storage and distribution. In July, after Korbin's wedding, I went to Washington to spend some time with my sisters and mom. We had a great time quiltting, eating out, going to the beach and relaxing at mom's house. It was great! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. Can't wait till next summer comes around so that we can get together again.

The adoptive family live in Orem and they have adopted three of Joshua's brothers and are looking forward to another baby coming to their family from the birth mom. We had a BBQ on the 24th of July and Kacey cooked all the food on the grill and Grandpa cooked hot dogs at the fire pit.. It was so delicious! .

After the BBQ we fired off some fireworks to celebrate Pioneer Day. Abby's mom Brenda was able to join us for a fun evening.

We had a lot of fun on July 24th celebrating pioneer day. Besides the fish rodeo the kids also had their faces painted and got to shoot a cork gun and win prizes.

Kim and Amy did a wonderful job putting the food together for the bridal shower for Abby. They made chocolate covered strawberries that looked like a tuxedo and wedding dress. They were so cute we hated to eat them, but they were so delicious. We ate, opened gifts and played games. We were so glad Abby's mom Brenda could be there too.

This summer Kacey and his family came to visit us. Each day was as busy as the one before. Here we are breaking open a pinata. Joshua went first, swinging the bat with all his might but having little success.

Emma was determined to hit the pinata. She hit it many times but also with no success.

The best part was when Emma took control over pulling the rope. She pulled with all her might so that Joshua and Kristen could not hit the pinata.

Kristen was a good sport and gave it a try. Being the great aunt that she is, she let Joshua break open the pinata.

Kendal and Alissa had a cupcake party where we all found out if they were having a boy or a girl. Even they did not know. Alissa had cupcakes made which had either blue or pink filling inside. We each took a bite of our cupcake and then we counted up how many were blue and how many were pink. Whichever color there was more of determined the sex of their baby. We all ate lunch together soon after the Wilson family arrived. Joshua was thirsty after all the fun! It was time to refresh.

On Tuesday we went to Disneyland. Here we are waiting to get on the bus that transports us from the parking lot to the entrance of Disneyland.

We had to squeze together to fit into the compartment on the bus. There was so much to see before we even went through the gates.

Trip to California

We recently returned from a week long trip to Los Angeles. We got there on Saturday and spent the night with Kacey and Amy. On Sunday morning we went to church with Kim and Brad, and then we all went back to Kacey's house for dinner and family time.

On Monday we went to the retail district in downtown LA. Here you can see Korbin and Kristen enjoying the opportunity to shop and find some treasures. They both bought sunglasses, or "sunnies" as Amelia calls them.

Prom

Last Saturday Kristen went to Prom with Seth Mills, who later that night was crowned Prom King . They had a great time together and as you can see Kristen looked beautiful. Kristen did all the alterations on her dress so that it was modest as well as gorgeous on her.

Home and Garden Show

Kendal, Alissa, Karl and Karen spent many hours getting ready for the home show at UVU. We had to fold all these boxes and then transfer them to the McKay Events Center.

Here we are the Thursday night setting up our display for Friday and Saturday at the Home Show. It looked great and we had a lot of positive responses to our product. Many people are concerned about their food storage and appreciated a way to rotate it and store their canned goods.

After the Home Show Karl and Kendal were exhausted but we still had to take down the display. It was a lot of work but so worth it. thanks everyone for all you did to make this happen!

We went to see the bald eagles that were landing in the trees here in Palmyra. They roost in the trees for the night. They were only here for a few days before they moved on to Alaska. Kim and Joel snuggled to keep warm while they watched the eagles.

Savanna stayed with us for a few days

Kendal and Alissa left Savanna with us for a few days while they went on a cruise to the Bahamas. It was so fun to take care of little bug.

On Saturday we went to see the lights in Spanish Fork and Salem. Karl hooked up the trailer and put hay on it so we could ride on it and see the lights. It was very cold but we all had a great time.

On Christmas Eve we went out to our barn and had our family story time about the birth of our Savior. It was very cold so we all had to bundle up. The animals wondered what was going on and came over to check us out.

I went to California for two weeks to take care of Kimberly and her family after Joel was born. Kimberly had many complications and needed a lot of help. Brad is a wonderful father and takes great care of his family, but he had to work and Kimberly needed someone with her for a couple of weeks till she got on her feet. I loved being able to be there and play with Amelia, hold sweet baby Joel and do whatever I could to help their family through a difficult time. It was fun playing play-doh with Amelia, going for walks (dinosaur hunts), and snuggling Joel while he slept or change his diaper. Kimberly is a great mom and I am so proud of her. I love being a grandma and feel so blessed to have the wonderful family that I do. I was even able to spend the weekends with Amy, Joshua and Emma. Such a treat! (Kacey was in Florida for the launch of the satellite he has been working on for the past couple of years.) We went swimming, went out to dinner, rode bikes around the block and played games. Thanks, dear family, for all your love and support of me while I was gone. I am so blessed! Love you all!

Kim and Brad had their baby boy at 7:11 Sunday morning on September 6th 2009. He wieghed 9 lbs. 11 ozs. and was 21 inches long and of course he has red hair. He had a very difficult birth with some complications. Kim was in labor 24 hours and then the doctors decided to do a C-section. Because of the complications Kim had surgery 2 hours after the delivery to make some repairs. They are both doing well now and are on the mend. Joel is our little miracle baby. We love you Kim, Brad, Amelia and Joel! The Wilson's have truly been blessed!

We went to washington to visit Grandma Brinkerhoff a few weeks ago. While Kendal, Alissa, Korbin and Kristen rode scooters we took care of Savanna. We had a very fun day going to see "Jake" the alligator man, eating a donuts at the bakery, eating fish and chips at the "Bowpicker", and going to the tourist traps at Seaside Beach. We love going there and always look forward to going back again next year. Who wants to come and join us? Let's have a reunion!

Our Oklahoma Trip

We took a week long trip to Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. We camped the first night in Colorado at a beautiful lake.

We stopped in Oklahoma to visit my Aunt Irene (my dad's sister) and Uncle Jack. We had a wonderful time getting to know them better. We spent the night with them and enjoyed their beautiful log house, 25 acre farm and lake. They were so kind to us, cooking wonderful meals and giving us a comfortable place to sleep. We were so sick of hotels that we felt truly blessed to have such a wonderful family.

We had a nice 4th of July at home. Picnic, frisbee throw, and fireworks. Kristen and Karl fight over the frisbee but Joshua says it's his.

Kacey lights the fireworks and put on a very nice show for us all to see.

We all sat around on the driveway and watched the fireworks. After each one we all clapped and said "Yay. daddy!"

Korbin's Homecoming

Elder Korbin Blunck returns from serving an honorable mission. Welcome home! We are so excited to finally see him coming down the escalator. Our whole family was able to be together after two years apart. The grandchildren are so excited to finally meet their uncle.

Kristen went to EFY at the Uof U with her friend Allia Huff. It rained most of the week and besides not having an umbrella and having to walk 15 minutes to the institute they had a great time and met many new friends..

We went to Flaming Gorge and went river rafting for our ward youth conference. Kristen and all the laurels went down the river with Karl as their navigator. We had a great time and Kristen only fell in once. But of course she fell in at the scariest part of the rapids. You see, the raft got stuck on a big rock and Kristen jumped out to push the raft off the rock but ended up falling in. The girls grabbed her quick and held on to her while a raft of boys hurried over to help. Kristen was more worried about her shoes being lost and wanted the boys to save her shoe. They finally got Kristen back into the boat and all went well the rest of the trip.

Look at those muscles. He doesn't even have to flex.

Kristen went to Prom this past weekend with Taylor Christensen. She had a great time. She looked beautiful! They went to Boondocks and rode the gocarts, played laser tag and other stuff. Later that day Taylor came back and picked up Kristen and they went to promenade and then to dinner at a friends house. The Prom was held at Thanksgiving Point.

Kim, Brad and Amelia stayed with us for a short time after they came home from Australia. Amelia was very comfortable here.

It seems to have become a tradition for us to go to In and Out Burger for dinner when we visit LA. Joshua and Emma love to watch the planes land right next to our table while we are eating dinner.
Emma had a birthday so we watched her open her presents while we were there for the weekend. Happy Birthday Emma. Now you are 2 years old!
